The thing that really kills me about Logan is that his kids are disappointing and ultimately unfit to be CEO, and it's not just that they're like that because he made them like that, but that they're like that because he wants them to be that way.
For all his talk about them being spoiled or coddled and his rant in the S3 finale that getting cut out of running Waystar is their chance to "be your own man" and build something themselves, he has spent the entire show actively undermining any attempt of theirs to do that. Shiv stays out and works in politics, but as soon as she joins a big campaign that could actually distinguish her from her family, he tells her he wants to make her CEO. He offers to buy Kendall out of his shares, but as soon as Kendall tries to take the offer and cut himself out, he refuses. He says he wants them out of the business and doing their own thing, and then as soon as they start actually doing that and buy Pierce, he tries to get Roman back.
The fact of the matter is that as much as he might claim to want a "real" heir, what he really wants is to never need one and for his children to stay children: incomplete, incapable, and under his thumb.
#something something the purpose of a system is what it does#i feel like the 'they are the way he made them' thing is pretty self evident and understood but it's important to distinguish that it's not#just a question of him being bad at raising kids or that he just can't produce the outcome that he wants: he is 100% producing the#outcome that he wants he's just lying about what that outcome is. he doesn't want them to be their own people or worthy of the position#because that would mean he wouldn't be able to control them and (more crucially for him) it would mean he'd have to give up control#of waystar. he doesn't want a legitimate successor because he doesn't want to be succeeded. he wants to deny his mortality and stay#in his spot forever. if his children grow up that means he has to grow old. if he can keep them trapped in childhood forever then he 'has#no choice' but to stay in power because he couldn't possibly leave it to them could he? they're not ready. it's a kindness to keep the#burden of the crown to himsef.#like imagine for a second if he did have a kid who was a perfect CEO candidate and exactly what he claimed to want. do you#really think he'd step aside and let them rule?#or would he see them as a threat and try to find some other way to cut them off at the knees and sabotage them the way he's been#doing with his other kids this whole time.#logan roy#kendall roy#connor roy#shiv roy#siobhan roy#roman roy#succession

The Least Demonic Demon
More m!ik theorizing time! This time on Delkira’s wish for his successor to the demon throne. We’ve seen very little of the former demon king but we can infer that he was powerful, selfish, feckless and while he was able to take control of the Netherworld he seemed largely uninterested in maintaining it. This seems par for the course for a lot of demons we’ve seen, who are about strength and action but sometimes lack the resolve to see things through. Enter humanity
We know Sullivan was one of Delkira’s closest advisors and thus would have been aware if his master was dabbling in the human world. It’s unknown if the separation of human and demon occurred before or after Delkira’s disappearance but I think it’s fairly clear he was interested in humans. I think he had grown bored of trying to control the Netherworld and was preparing to abandon his post. But he knew what he wanted out of his successor and laid out tests to locate them.
I believe Delkira left this prophecy to help guide who would be the new Demon King, one who was strong enough to control the Netherworld but kind and attentive enough to heal it and it keep it together. The bit about the foreign land is his subtle way of saying that he expected this candidate would be a human or some other non-demonic entity. And the final part of the prophecy.
Remember the Rank Owl decided who got what rank based off of how they did in the flying race. The one where Iruma was at a maximum disadvantage but not only was able to survive but he healed an injured demon, saved Sabroc and got them both to the finish line safely. The Rank Owl probably had that ring hidden in its pouch for years waiting for the one worthy to wield it. The ring has his energy infused in it but I see it as less a possession and more like a blessing, like ‘this one you idiots!’ Iruma filled all these qualities which is why it attached to him and didn’t bother with a rank. The Demon King doesn’t need ranks.
We see another example of these tests in the Harvest Festival with the collecting of the Legendary Leaf which requires dedication, creativity, cooperativeness with multiple demons. Not something demons are good at, thus the object-
This is only Babyls festival, I’m sure each of the other demon schools had their own unique human oriented tests that no one had passed before. The whole point is Delkira is leaving tests and little clues behind as to who should inherit his throne. Its very clear he wanted someone different from the usual demonic powerhouse.
How does Sullivan come into this? I think he knew of Delkira’s intent to disappear and that he wanted a human to succeed him. I’ve seen people comment that it was odd that Sullivan, as a high ranking demon, was called to the summoning by Iruma’s parents. I believe its because he’s answered many, many summons since Delkira left, searching for the appropriate candidate. But the human who are summoning demons, they’re often fairly demonic themselves and don’t fit the bill. Rinse and repeat over hundreds of years until the Suzukis offer up their teenage son as collateral. A boy who has survived undo hardship since a young age, who is kind, compassionate and personable. And then he realized he’d found his king.
I’m always a fan of the trope of a mentor takes a student for purely practical reasons and ends up genuinely loving their charge.
These two panels are obviously meant to parallel one another but look at Sullivan’s expression and posture in the second. Could be art changes yes but he also just so much more genuine in his affection for Iruma. The first looks like a servant bowing before their lord. The second looks like a family being so grateful to have the other in their life.
This is getting so long so! To summarize! Delkira, planning to abandon the Netherworld tasked his loyal servant with finding a human to assume his throne. To ensure the proper candidate was found, he left clues and tests behind to point the way to the prophecy he wrote and make sure that the individual was truly worthy. And so far Iruma has been far exceeding expectations.
#welcome to demon school iruma kun#mairimashita! iruma kun#m!ik spoilers#so much of what iruma has been through seems like a test#something a capricious king would do when choosing his successor#to ensure that only the least demonic demon would take his place#and he wanted that demon to not even be a demon but a human#delkira is probably in a denny's right now like 'gee I wonder if sullivan found a human to replace me yet?'

about 30 hours into veilguard and while I have an essay worth of my problems w the game and how this is absolutely not ten year's worth of developing I do want to say what I do like. the maps (visuals/progression/exploration), combat, and the companions (only five of them. neve and taash annoy me and I would absolutely not recruit them if this game didn't force you to)... overall it's all right on its own but it's no dragon age game.
#i dont want to pass final judgement until i finish the main story but#trying so hard to not talk about everything i hate about this game#my main thing is how your choices do not matter. the three dialogue choices are essentially the same thing#absolutely no roleplay and no replay value aside from what. making a new character to look at and who to romance#which is fine i suppose but they should have said that this game is more linear instead of lying#dragon age 2 had more choices and that game was shit out in less than a year . embarrassing lol#i haven't really played origins properly so when i say this i mean the main four companions#but in every dragon age game ive liked all the companions. there were only very very few i didn't care for#but neve and taash bore me to death and i hate that you have to be nice to them especially when theyre being unfair#also i don't mean to be obnoxious when i say its no dragon age game . i genuinely felt like i was playing a ubisoft game#the dragon age identity has been stripped since the original writers were cut off thats just a fact#can i even say im disappointed when i never even had expectations to begin w#in the end the cons outweigh the pros and this game failed miserably to be a dragon age successor or whatever. its a complete sanitization#this franchise has always been a mess#dragon age veilguard#datv spoilers#bioware critical#six speaks

Fic Prompts: Free Day Thursday
(Picks up where Viper left off)
"You know you've got like a whole bucket of cactus paddles down there?"
Jak sauntered back into the throne room from the hidden door and tossed Damas a sealed bag of roasted crickets.
"I should hope it's a full bucket, considering I picked those this morning."
Damas pulled out one of the cooked insects, plucked off the legs, and popped the rest into his mouth.
"You don't eat the legs?"
Jak draped himself over the edge of the throne to snatch a handful of crickets from the bag.
"They get stuck in my teeth," Damas complained, "I save them for my birds."
Daxter snickered. "Even Pecker?"
"If Pecker doesn't like the food, he's free to fly back to Onin," replied the king with an almost mischievous look.
"Oye, you didn't mess with anything in the kitchens, did you? The head cook is...tetchy."
"She's a miserable old cuss and she threw a knife at me," Jak said indignantly.
"She throws knives at everyone. You're lucky it was only a knife."
Around another mouthful of crickets, Jak made an appalled expression. "What else does she throw?!"
Damas grimaced and rubbed his forehead as if remembering an old injury. "Whatever is closest. Pans. Porridge. Whole onions. Cactus paddles with the spines still on."
Daxter started to come closer, but glanced at the dead snake still decorating the dais and thought better of it. "Hey, Jak doesn't need to go to the kitchens to experience that! All he has to do is get distracted while on the Leaper again and he'll have a mouth full of prickly-pear!"
"That wasn't my fault!" Jak protested hotly.
Damas raised a brow. "Oh? I hadn't heard about this one."
Hoping to avoid retelling the story, Jak quickly changed the subject.
"Wait, can you actually eat cactus?" he demanded.
He moved to sit cross-legged directly in front of the throne, and began examining the viper's mouth to get an idea of how to harvest the fangs later. Absentmindedly, he reached a hand back behind him, and was too deep in focus mode to register that this wasn't Daxter or Keira he was non-verbally bumming snacks off of. Nonetheless, Damas made a goodnatured scoff and placed several more crickets in his hand.
"You can eat specific kinds of cactus," Damas clarified. By the emphasis he placed on "specific", it was fairly obvious he was anticipating Jak trying to eat random cacti in town.
"Only the ones with the paddles like you saw, understand?"
"Sure, sure." Jak brushed this off. "But what do you make with them, though?"
Damas inspected the bag of crickets and sealed it back up to ensure that they would have some snacks during the coming meetings. "You use them for just about anything you need a vegetable for, honestly. I tend to grill them with lemon. Some people boil them for salads. Sig's mother is known in the East Quarter for frying it in batter and selling it in little cups."
"Ooh! We still haven't met Sig's ma!" Daxter chirped. He grinned wickedly. "We should ask her about Sig's embarrassing baby stories."
"She has no shortage of them," Damas agreed.
Daxter glanced back at Jak, happily munching crickets, and shuddered.
"On a scale of one to "Jak eats things raw if he can't figure out how to cook them", how hard is it to cook?"
Jak looked insulted. Damas snorted.
"After the afternoon appointments, I'll teach you one of the simpler methods. You won't need much- Jak, don't touch the fangs. We still need the evidence intact."
"I was just looking!" Jak defended.
"With your hands?"
With a gusty sigh, the teenager scooted back to the right of Damas’s seat. He looked a little cross, but it faded soon enough.
"What appointments do you have, anyway?"
Damas stood up to stretch. Precursors knew he wouldn't get a chance in the next few hours.
"Third bell after noon through fifth bell is reserved for Arbitration Court," he said. "Which is why I do not usually call you during those hours. My job as king is to uphold the safety of my people, ensure the continued functioning of the Beacon and the water filtration system, mediate disputes not serious enough for the Arena, and enforce laws agreed upon by myself and my council."
Jak made a face. "That sounds like a lot of being stuck inside."
Dryly, Damas asked, "Why do you think I planted an entire grove of date palms in here? I would have died of boredom years ago if I did not."
He turned to fix both boys with a stern look.
"Out of respect for your fellow Spargans, try not to fidget during Arbitration Court unless you notice something suspicious. After five is a monthly meeting with the northern clifftop farmers to discuss rent payments."
"You rent farmland?"
"They rent from me," corrected Damas. "I didn't clear boulders until my hands bled just to abandon my land when I became king."
Jak blinked. "Fair enough. Man, we should've charged Sandover rent, Dax."
"Pal, they thought we owed them compensation for being allowed to sleep on their porches and eat a bare minimum of their food," Daxter pointed out sourly.
He caught a troubled frown on Damas’s face after the statement.
"Hm. I would like your attention to be on the visitors most during the rent meeting and the council meeting after evening meal. If anyone has a problem with me, specifically, that's likely where they'll turn up."
Jak eyed the snake again. "And if they blow their cover, I get to take 'em out, right?"
"No." Damas narrowed his eyes and pointed at Jak as he sat down again. "I need to determine how far the plot goes. No killing the assassin or accomplices."
"What about after?" Jak pressed.
"I'm the aggrieved party, I'm the one who deals with them," Damas said in mild reproof.
Jak folded his arms. "I dunno, we're feeling pretty aggrieved, right Daxter?"
"Positively outraged," Daxter added, sounding more bored than offended. "More Jak than me, but he's the sensitive type. You know him."
"Yes," Damas said, shaking his head with a small smile, "Yes I do. The answer is still "no", Jak."
Jak huffed and settled more comfortably against the throne. "You never let me do anything fun," he joked.
"I don't, I really don't." Damas reached over to prod the back of Jak's head affectionately.
"I'm a horrible, mean, adult who only lets you risk life and limb four days out of the week instead of every three hours."
"The folks in Haven would think that was the worst kind of tyranny, not being able to make us do all their work for them," Daxter scoffed.
The lift began to rattle, and Damas cleared his throat.
"Well, back to work. Eyes open, my boys. Let us see if we can't catch a would-be assassin. Jak, don't touch the fangs."
"I wasn't!" Jak protested.
Neither of his companions looked convinced.

Just looked on the older books for refs of Thea and
Boi Curse of the Cheese Pyramid is insane
It literally starts with G heading to work on time at 9, but William comes in like "BOI YOU'RE SPENDING TOO MUCH MONEY ON THE GAZETTE YOU HAVE TO CUT DOWN THE BUDGET" (Imagine this screamed directly into Geronimo's ear)
Obviously William's definition of "cut down the budget" is this
TW: Spoilers for Curse of the Cheese Pyramid, William behavior, do not click on if you don't want a spike in blood pressure
If you choose to turn away now, the following fume was just an intermission for finding this picture lmao
He pawned over everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) in Geronimo's office, from his desk to his armchair to his carpet to his book collection to his art collection, and replaced it all with a single plastic chair and desk ("All you need in an office is a desk and chair!")
He fired ALL THE STAFF and decided that only family members will be working for the paper (because family members don't need to be paid as much probably (if at all) when working for a family business-- they all share their finances with each other, anyway maybe (it's not clear what their salaries are gonna be (wanna bet G is paid minimum wage while Thea is paid 50% of the Gazette's monthly expenses after this clean sweep))). The only person spared from the firing spree was Shif T. Paws, the Gazette's sales manager, who apparently offered to work there for free.
He delegates all the work of the Gazette to four people-- G does all the office work (taking calls, building maintenance, writing, editing, printing, clientele stuff), Thea does all the interviews and field work stuff, Trap does all the cooking, and Benjamin is "William's personal assistant". Lord knows what that last position means for little Benji. (Okay reading ahead Benjamin seems fine, but he does say that William is "a bit pushy".)
He sends G out on a work holiday thing and he overworks the crap out of everyone, to the point where even Thea is sick of William's senile old-fashioned ass, and it seems that the Gazette was also going downhill because of this mouse furry ripoff Daniel Dancer. (To give a preview of what he did in the working perspective, he basically had Trap work seven days a week)
He was planning to have staff give use old newspaper instead of toilet paper (T&B expenses), make a 30-second time mechanism for the restrooms (to maximize manpower efficiency and possible humiliation for anyone going number 2), and was considering cutting all electricity to the building and just have staff work on typewriters "just like the old days".
This man's senile ass--
#geronimo stilton#rant#give up the toilet paper and use old newspapers instead#where are they in the filipino provinces lmao#william would fit right into an episode of extreme cheapskates#absolute nutjob#how is he not actually senile yet#imagine going so daniel dancer that even your favorite niece who you openly spoil can't stand your guts#shif t paws is mvp#man's playing 4d chess here#and all for his boss who he seems to be on pretty good terms with#i asked my parents a bit about william's relationship with the gazette (retired but still making absolute decisions for the company)#and uh turns out one of the family businesses on my family's chinese side works a similar way apparently#my great-uncle is retired technically and his son is his successor#but my great-uncle is still making decisions for the company that his son has to comply with#i guess it's a cultural thing? doesn't mean i like the way it sounds#i heard my uncle's starting to act more independently tho i think so good for him if he's actually doing that

"Among their complaints [in 1460, the Yorkists] specifically blamed the earls of Wiltshire and Shrewsbury and Viscount Beaumont for ‘stirring’ the king [Henry VI] to hold a parliament at Coventry that would attaint them and for keeping them from the king’s presence and likely mercy, asserting that this was done against [the king's] will. To this they added the charge that these evil counselors were also tyrannizing other true men* without the king’s knowledge. Such claims of malfeasance obliquely raised the question of Henry’s fitness as a king, for how could he be deemed competent if such things happened without his knowledge and against his wishes? They also tied in rumors circulating somewhat earlier in the southern counties and likely to have originated in Calais that Henry was really ‘good and gracious Lord to the [Yorkists] since, it was alleged, he had not known of or assented to their attainders. On 11 June the king was compelled to issue a proclamation stating that they were indeed traitors and that assertions to the contrary were to be ignored." - Helen Maurer, "Margaret of Anjou: "Queenship and Power in Late Medieval England"
Three things that we can surmise from this:
We know where the "Henry was an innocent helpless king being controlled and manipulated by his Evil™ advisors" rhetoric came from**.
The Yorkists were deliberately trying to downplay Henry VI's actual role and involvement in politics and the Wars of the Roses. They cast him as a "statue of a king", blamed all royal policies and decisions on others*** (claiming that Henry wasn't even aware of them), and framed themselves as righteous and misunderstood counselors who remained loyal to the crown. We should keep this in mind when we look at chronicles' comments of Henry's alleged passivity and the so-called "role reversal" between him and Queen Margaret.
Henry VI's actual agency and involvement is nevertheless proven by his own actions. We know what he thought of the Yorkists, and we know he took the effort to publicly counter their claims through a proclamation of his own. That speaks louder than the politically motivated narrative of his enemies, don't you think?
*There was some truth to these criticisms. For example, Wiltshire (ie: one of the men named in the pamphlet) was reportedly involved in a horrible situation in June which included hangings and imprisonments for tax resistance in Newbury. The best propagandists always contain a degree of truth, etc. **I've seen some theories on why Margaret of Anjou wasn't mentioned in these pamphlets alongside the others even though she was clearly being vilified during that time as well, and honestly, I think those speculations are mostly unnecessary. Margaret was absent because it was regarded as very unseemly to target queens in such an officially public manner. We see a similar situation a decade later: Elizabeth Woodville was vilified and her whole family - popularly and administratively known as "the queen's kin" - was disparaged in Warwick and Clarence's pamphlets. This would have inevitably associated her with their official complaints far more than Margaret had been, but she was also not directly mentioned. It was simply not considered appropriate. ***This narrative was begun by the Duke of York & Warwick and was - demonstrably - already widespread by the end of 1460. When Edward IV came to power, there seems to have been a slight shift in how he spoke of Henry (he referred to Henry as their "great enemy and adversary"; his envoys were clearly willing to acknowledge Henry's role in Lancastrian resistance to Yorkist rule; etc), but he nevertheless continued the former narrative for the most part. I think this was because 1) it was already well-established and widespread by his father, and 2) downplaying Henry's authority would have served to emphasize Edward's own kingship, which was probably advantageous for a usurper whose deposed rival was still alive and out of reach. In some sense, the Lancastrians did the same thing with their own propaganda across the 1460s, which was clearly not as effective in terms of garnering support and is too long to get into right now, but was still very relevant when it came to emphasizing their own right to the throne while disparaging the Yorkists' claim.
#henry vi#my post#wars of the roses#margaret of anjou#Look I’m not trying to argue that Henry VI was secretly some kind of Perfect King™ whose only misfortune was to be targeted by the Yorkists#That is...obviously pushing it and obviously not true#Henry was very imperfect; he did make lots of errors and haphazard/unpopular decisions; and he did ultimately lose/concede defeat#in both the Hundred Years War and the subsequent Wars of the Roses.#He was also clearly less effective than his predecessor and successor (who unfortunately happened to be his father and usurper respectively#and that comparison will always affect our view of his kingship. It's inevitable and in some sense understandable.#But it's hardly fair to simply accept and parrot the Yorkist narrative of him being a “puppet of a king”.#Henry *did* have agency and he was demonstrably involved in the events around him#From sponsoring alchemists to issuing proclamations to participating in trials against the Yorkists (described in the 1459 attainder)#We also know that he was involved in administration though it seems as though he was being heavily advised/handheld by his councilors#That may be the grain of truth which the Yorkists' image of him was based on.#But regardless of Henry's aptitude he was clearly *involved* in ruling#Just like he was involved in plots against Yorkist rule in the early 1460s before he was captured.#And he did have some successes! For example in 1456 he travelled to Chester and seems to have been responsible#for reconciling Nicholas ap Gruffyd & his sons to the crown and granting them a general pardon.#Bizarrely Ralph Griffiths has credited Margaret for this even though there is literally no evidence that she was involved.#We don't even know if she travelled with Henry and the patent rolls offering the pardon never mention her.#Griffiths seems to have simply assumed that it was Margaret's doing because of 1) his own assumption that she was entirely in control#while Henry was entirely passive and 2) because it (temporarily) worked against Yorkist interests.#It's quite frustrating because this one of the most probable examples we have of Henry's own participation in ruling in the late 1450s#But as usual his involvement is ignored :/#Also all things considered:#The verdict on Henry's kingship may not have been so damning if his rule hadn't been opposed or if the Lancastrians had won the war?#Imo it's doubtful he would be remembered very well (his policies re the HYW and the economic problems of that time were hardly ideal)#but I think it's unlikely that he would have been remembered as a 'failed king' / antithesis of ideal kingship either#Does this make sense? (Henry VI experts please chime in because I am decidedly not one lol)

this being the first theory battler has lampshaded and discarded as a joke is making me extremely 👁
#umineko liveblog#like. everything else has been taken seriously even when it's stupid#but this is outright dismissed the second it's mentioned. surely not..........#ough but wait. the possibility of the captive beatrice falling pregnant is rather high#and there are several plausible scenarios with which a hidden child could work#i mean if we go full cliche then the answer here is that nanjo somehow helped beatrice hide the child#making him like double compromised with kinzo. almost like a moral stalemate even#also given the date the mansion was built we can assume this kid would be in their early/mid 30s present day#only known candidate on rokkenjima who fits the criteria would be rosa but that doesn't really makes sense#either that or gohda is a good 10-15 years younger than you'd think he is#but then i'm thinking about the ushiromiya shannon stuff and wondering if there isn't an orphanage link#not that shannon's the beatrice child because she's 15 years too young for that#but perhaps the kid was concealed in the orphanage and this is where the furniture stuff comes in?#every single servant kid is less than human unless they prove themselves to be a worthy substitute for the lost child#and the abuse comes from the fact that they also bear the brunt of kinzo's rage at this kid for having slipped out of his grasp#and of course none of the servant children can ever compare to kinzo's ideal so the cycle perpetuates forever#furniture in that they're being punished for not innately being an ushiromiya successor#this also feeds into the beatrice/kinzo becoming stuff too at a slightly different angle#the children are brought on expected to carry fragments of both beatrice and kinzo and tormented when they fail to do so#meanwhile i genuinely think if a beatrice kid existed they would presently be extremely far removed from rokkenjima#like some random well adjusted adult who knows very little of their origins#meaning that even if kinzo ever found this person they too would not be a fitting ushiromiya successor#yeah i think there might be some potential for this kind of theory

in terms of how pervasive the fanon perception of tim drake as this neglected/borderline abused child of the horrific drake parents who are the worst human beings to ever live, i think it largely comes from the fact that i would bet money that 90% of the people perpetuating it just didn't have two parents who both worked.
#personal#the other ten percent comes from people trying to make him marginally interesting by pretending he's suffered more than jesus#(he hasn't he isn't even the character who's suffered most or second most in his own family and it also doesn't work)#(cuz he's still boring)#but like every time people bring up 'oh the drakes went on TRIPS for their JOBS how AWFUL' i give the most intense side eye#there was a period from when i was around 8 to 13 where my dad went on VERY long business trips for his work#like months long business trips#because again both my parents worked but he earned more money#or the fact that i spent a lot of summers with my sister and babysitters before my mom went into university teaching#because neither of them had the free time because they were WORKING#like i think these people just aren't used to having both mom and dad have jobs they need to do#plus the bit where they go hard on jack drake in particular makes me laugh because 'oh he stopped tim from being robin' yeah no shit!#if i found out my kid was robin i'd stop him!#a) unlike his predecessors or immediate successors tim has no internal drive that necessitates robin in his life#b) the last one very famously died! on the job! violently! and it turned batman into a crazy person!#as a parent jack drake is perfectly within his rights to not want his kid to be in very real and present danger#that's not him being abusive that's him being very normal#also i don't even get it because beyond people not understanding the concept of 'parents with jobs'#have some of you guys ever even read tim-centric pre-52 comics?#he doesn't mind his parents' work at all and he likes that his house has a bunch of cool artifacts and the way it's lowkey a museum#just make an oc at this point my god because it makes the tags and ao3 a fucking nightmare honestly

we all wish our favorite lore characters show up as often and has so much impact across so many regions as wanderer
#mine musings#liveblogging genshin#saying this as a wanderer fan#but also saying this as someone patiently (so patiently) waiting on albedo mona venti#i KNOW they're end game lore characters and we do get venti crumbs but oh man#unless you do limited events and world quests you'd never know#which is baffling because mona and venti and albedo all hold up the lore like#hoyo has to keep them in the basement to keep the mysteries going longer#albedi and mona as successors to rhinedottir and barbeloth (throw in klee too for alice)#venti literally being tied to istaroth? his statue says gateway to celestia? venti literally mentioned in every world quest in some way?#VENTI SUMMONING THE TWINS TO TEYVAT??#it's like there's a moratorium on alchemy and fake skies and the god of time and they're all related somehow i just know it

My main issue with the Hellaverse critical community is it feel like you guys are so desperate to nitpick small things cuz ur afraid to admit ur running out of ideas
Well, we've discussed the larger scope issues extensively. You can find a million posts out there describing them in detail, with plenty of suggestions and alternatives as to how they could be rectified. And Viv sure as hell ain't listening.
Can't make any huge analysis posts until new material comes out at risk of beating a dead horse, so we can allow ourselves some nitpicking in the meantime.
#confession#if this has to do with the Lucifer VA thing. the actors in the pilot gave a great performance#and their voices fit the characters to a T#so naturally we'd have high standards for the newcomers. including Angel's VA whom we haven't heard from yet#though I'm curious because I loved Kovox as Angel#shame he was replaced#hazbin critical#helluva critical#(Reed Donat from YouTube could've been a worthy successor. I like his character skits)

Jedi 🤝 Jews
Religious cultures/groups who got really fucked over by some virgin-birth guy with a messiah complex
#wooloo-writes#wooloo writes#star wars#sw#jedi#judaism#jedi and judaism#anakin skywalker#jesus christ#jesus#the similarities man#anakin is a jesus allegory but not in the way people think#not in a “chosen son of god who will redeem mankind” way#no#anakin fails hard at that one#anakin is a jesus allegory in that he and his successors end up causing a lot of misery for the religion they originally cane from#net negative#(also they kinda really fail at that whole thing they allegedly were supposed to do#anakin does not destroy the sith and balance the force (until its too late and it gets unbalanced again leaving others to clean up his mess)#jesus has not been so successful at redeeming mankind bringing peace being a messiah etc)#only difference is anakin built the empire that hurst jedi jesus was adopted by the empire picking on jews

💙 OUTFIT SWAP!!! 💙
Yeah, just a for fun outfit swap between my Bluey Chair (pictured on the left) and @thesucessorofficalnot's version (on the right).
This was a really interesting project because it gave me a hands-on demonstration of how different our art styles and preferences are. For example, I realized I tend to skew towards lighter color palettes while Jack tends to go darker. Granted my Bluey is an albino woman so the color palette was already going to be very light, but still.
What's especially interesting is that my Bluey, a woman, dresses more masculine while Jack's Bluey, a man, dresses more feminine. So both versions managed to pull off each other's outfits quite well despite the rather obvious difference between them.
Anyway, go read The Successor and then read Death's Castle when you're caught up!
#in case its not obvious this has nothing to do with the kids show#blame Pewds for choosing this name#please block me so I don't clutter the tag for that#also my Bluey has her hair in a bun but because I drew her facing the camera it's hidden#I almost forgot the other Bluey's glasses lmfao#I let them keep their cane and glasses respectively because their disabilities didn't swap#Bluey Chair#Death's Castle#The Successor#my art
